# Where can I learn more about stem cells?

Scientists and researchers began studying stem cells in the 60’s.

To find out more, you’ll want to do a [__Google Scholar__](https://scholar.google.co.uk/) or [__PubMed__](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/advanced) search on “stem cells” specifically.

You can find the most noteworthy stem-cell studies in [__this Wikipedia resource__](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stem_cell) - if you scroll all the way down, you’ll see the list of studies in the "references" section.

These are other places where you can look for additional information:
* [__What are stem cells?__](https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/info/stem_cell/) (includes a 7-minute video)
* [__Induced pluripotent stem cell__](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Induced_pluripotent_stem_cell)

Using your course learnings as the basis to carry out your *own* independent research is a always good idea. Our most successful students are those who continue researching the topics that interest them most, so go for it - and have fun in the process!
