# How does a blood test compare to the Nutritional Deficiencies Assessment™?

Let’s answer this important question…

**How does a blood test compare to the Nutritional Deficiencies Assessment™?**

Both can be used.

They each give a different perspective!

The assessment can help your client to get an overview and understand potential risk.

While a medical blood test can be beneficial, it may not be sufficient by itself.

Why?

Because a medical blood test compares results to the average person and is not necessarily personalised. Which mean that it can potentially miss important changes.

For instance, let’s consider a client who naturally has a higher level of a certain nutrient. If they are compared to “normal” they would not be considered deficient if they are in the “normal range”. However, it’s possible that their blood test level could actually be low for them, as it reflects a change from their own personal “normal”. So, for this individual, this number actually suggests a deficiency, and the blood test would not pick it up.

Thus, the Nutritional Deficiencies Assessment™ and a medical blood test can often supplement each other.
