# How do I search the nutritional facts in common foods?

To search for the nutritional values in common food items (when these are not available on labels), we recommend that you use Google nutrition search.

You can find the nutritional facts of over 1,000 foods in these simple steps:
1. Open the Google search engine: [__**www.google.co.uk**__](https://www.google.co.uk)
2. Type in **\[ food name ] calories** or **\[ food name ] nutrition facts**
3. Click on Search, and the nutrition facts for 100 grams will be displayed (calories, fat, carbohydrate, protein, vitamins, minerals).
Once the results are displayed, you can change the food type and quantity. Easy and reliable!

And for specific brands, you can look them up online on the manufacturers' websites or even in online supermarkets where label information is available.
